Our Mission
FASD Communities is a volunteer-driven, grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing supportive housing and essential life skills to young adults affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) across the United States.
We also advocate for greater recognition of the damage caused by prenatal alcohol exposure—the leading preventable cause of birth defects and developmental disabilities, while supporting individuals and families living with FASD.
Our Home in Platteville, Wisconsin

In Platteville, Wisconsin, we established the nation’s first supportive housing model for young adults with FASD.
Started in 2018, our peaceful rural property provides each resident with a private bedroom, shared communal spaces, and consistent engagement in community life. Residents volunteer at local thrift stores, animal shelters, and the farmers’ market.
The program has not only given young adults independence in a safe, structured environment, but it has also fostered genuine belonging.
As one resident proudly states, “We’re not a group home—we’re a family.” Parents echo this sentiment, sharing their relief and joy at finding a long-term home where their children are cared about, safe, and supported.
Sustaining Our Current Group Home
While we dream of one day helping other people living with FASD by opening more group homes across the country, we must ensure our current home remains financially sustainable. Your donations will go directly toward supporting our Platteville program.
Our Founder:
Gigi Davidson
FASD Communities was founded by Gigi Davidson, a Wisconsin native, born and raised in the Milwaukee area. She became involved with FASD when her now-adult adopted son was diagnosed with FASD at the age of 18. Prior to his diagnoses, he had attended ten different schools while trying to understand his difficulties.
Today, Gigi resides in Honolulu, HI and operates the organization with our local Platteville, Wisconsin Management Team.
